Bike mechanic Ahasanur moves a boulder out of the Green Living basement so BEDS can have more room to frolic with bicycles. whoohoo!

BEDS is finally rustling awake after deep winter slumber. *yawn*
This weekend we moved from our small bike shed to the basement of the Gator Green Living Community’s house.  We now have light, running water, and lots of room to fix bikes!  The next few weeks will be spent fixing up the 12 bike share bicycles so we can relaunch the  Bike Share Program at the library after Spring Break. Let us know if you want to learn and help heal broken bicycles.

We’re Winners! (of a bamboo bike)

Remember that super-fun video we posted around Halloween? Well that was an entry into Rainforest Alliance’s So Practical It’s Radical Video Contest, where they challenged students to highlight what they’re doing on campus to promote sustainability in fun and practical ways. After hours of highly stressful facebook promoting for votes, WE WON!

We’ll post a picture when our bamboo baby comes into the shop. If you’d like to take her for a spin, email Eel at swaydisl@allegheny.edu and you’ll be added to a waiting list!
